This project is critical to the rehabilitation and restoration of Adelaide's iconic River Torrens.

It will involve:

  • Improved crossings and lighting.
  • Providing sufficient flood conveyance.
  • Establishment of wetland habitat to improve local biodiversity.
  • Improving recreational opportunities Improving river quality and provide habitat for threatened species.

This is Stage 3 of the redevelopment program for Breakout Creek and aims to set the benchmark for urban waterway restoration.

This project is delivered through local council.

Total investment: $12 million ($4 million in government grants)
