The Edmund Avenue Cottages Redevelopment will deliver an expanded collaborative working environment to support SMEs and encourage sustainable business growth and innovation within the heart of Unley.

The Cottages will help service a need for co-working in the Inner Southern Adelaide region, and drive growth and innovation in support of the State Government’s nine growth sectors.

Developing the Council-owned cottages contribute to the activation of the Unley Civic Precinct and realise a key component of the Precinct Masterplan through the development of 3 of 6 cottages.

The existing character cottages are to be refurbished, and existing lean-tos replaced with a new rear extension connecting the 3 cottages, and providing a new entrance and improved public realm to the adjacent Village Green open space.

Key highlights include:

  • refurbishment of three of 6 existing character cottages (72, 74 and 76 Edmund Avenue Unley)
  • replacement of existing lean-tos with a new rear extension connecting the 3 cottages to provide a business, innovation, and co-working hub in one location
  • refurbishment of existing public toilets in Cottage 72 Edmund Avenue Unley to include 3unisex cubicles, including equal access facilities and baby change facilities.
