The intersection upgrade will improve safety, capacity and connectivity at one of the most important locations in southern Adelaide.

The upgrade will improve connectivity, capacity and safety for all users at the junction of Goodwood, Springbank and Daws roads, by constructing a new realigned four-way intersection.

On average more than 60,000 vehicles a day travel through this location with travel time delays in peak periods.

The treatments for the new four-way intersection include:

  • Road widening on Goodwood Road to provide extra lanes.
  • Road realignment on Springbank and Daws Roads.
  • Upgraded pedestrian crossings.
  • Dedicated bicycle lanes on the approaches and through the intersection.

Early works began in early 2020. The new four-way intersection opened to traffic in April 2021, and major works were completed in September 2021.

Landscaping and other minor works, including final line marking, are continuing.

This project is jointly funded by the Australian and South Australian Governments.
