The upgrade of Kington's three main streets, Hanson, Holland and Agnes Streets, will create a unified precinct with improved accessibility.
The project involves:
- Widening footpaths and improved cross-overs to improve pedestrian access (for people of all ages and abilities).
- Development of pedestrian nodes to accommodate alfresco dining and provide an environment for place activation initiatives.
- Landscaping, tree planting and stormwater infrastructure.
- Street furniture (seating, bike racks, bins), lighting and signage.
This project is delivered through local council.
Total investment: $1.34 million ($334,250 in state government grants).
